A training program on standardized livestock farming technology in Arab countries was launched in Yinchuan, the capital of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Aug 7. Over 20 representatives of Egypt, Iraq, Mauritania and Palestine attended the program.

Aiming at deepening the exchange and cooperation between China and Arab countries in the field of livestock science and technology, the two-week training course will enable the trainees to grasp the large-scale feeding and breeding models and practical operational skills in raising beef cattle and dairy cows through systematic lectures and field visits.

Livestock industry cooperation is one of the important areas of international exchanges and cooperation in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. As an important livestock production base in China, Ningxia boasts the dairy and beef cattle, and Tan sheep industries which are among the local "six specialty industries". In the past four years, Ningxia's growth rates of dairy cows, beef cattle and Tan sheep ranked respectively first, fourth and sixth in the country, showing strong development momentum.

Ningxia has made striking achievements in the standardized breeding technology of livestock industry over the years. Twenty-two sessions of training programs designed for foreigners have been held in the region, with a total of more than 380 trainees taking part. In the future, Ningxia will further contribute to the development of the livestock industry at home and abroad with its valuable experience.
