cas-expo.org.cnThe history of flax cultivation in Ningxia spans over two thousand years.
Flaxseeds are used to produce flaxseed oil. Compared with other plant oils, flaxseed oil has a higher content of unsaturated fatty acids. Additionally, it is rich in protein, dietary fiber, antioxidant peptides and other functional components, earning it the title of "liquid gold".
As the core region for flaxseed processing and flaxseed oil consumption in China, Ningxia stands out for its favorable natural conditions and advanced cultivation techniques. The high-quality and delicious taste of flaxseed oil produced in Ningxia is well recognized. Leveraging its superior flaxseed resources, Ningxia has vigorously developed the flaxseed industry, propelling the region's flaxseed industry onto a fast-track of rapid development.
Meanwhile, in order to address the high procurement costs of flaxseed raw materials for processing enterprises and the issues of low efficiency in customs clearance and transportation, starting from 2020, Ningxia has strengthened inter-regional port cooperation and fully leveraged the advantages of the Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Zone in terms of bonded functions.
In 2020, a special train loaded with flaxseed from Kazakhstan arrived in Ningxia for the first time. In 2022, the first batch of Russian bonded imported flaxseeds arrived in the Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Zone, opening up another international freight channel for importing flaxseeds into Ningxia. In 2023, the first shipment of Russian flaxseed oil produced through cold pressing technology in Ningxia cleared customs in the Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
From then on, the business model of flaxseed being imported through the Ningxia international freight channel as bonded goods, processed into semi-finished products under bond and then entering the domestic market or being exported is fully operational.
