MOFCOMFrom the 15th to 18th Oct., the 11th round of China-GCC FTA negotiations was held in Guangzhou. It was attended by delegations led respectively by Wang Shouwen, China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce (MOFCOM), and Al Marzouqi, General Coordinator of GCC FTA Negotiations. About 70 officials from competent authorities on both sides attended the meeting, including the Ministry of Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the General Administration of Customs from the Chinese side, and authorities of the six GCC countries and the GCC Secretariat. They earnestly implemented the consensus of leaders of both sides to accelerate the negotiation process, make positive progress and ensure the conclusion of the negotiations by the end of 2024.
Negotiations on the China-GCC FTA were launched in 2004. An early conclusion of the FTA will further deepen the China-GCC economic and trade cooperation and enrich the connotation of the China-GCC strategic partnership.
