China DailyReportedly, the infrastructure project for the comprehensive development of Jeddah city centre in Saudi Arabia ushered in significant progress. The project was constructed by China Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CHEC), with contract work undertaken by CCCC Fourth Harbour Engineering Company Limited (CCCC4).
The project is located on the western coast of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with a total construction area of 2.15 million square metres, and the construction content mainly covers municipal pipeline network, landscape engineering, communication system, electrical system, smart city and so on. Upon completion, the project will create a new core area for this ancient city and become a brand-new seaside resort in Jeddah. It is of great significance in promoting the development of Jeddah's economy, culture, sports and entertainment and other fields.
It is reported that the concrete mixing plant of the project has recently obtained professional certification from the local industry authority in Saudi Arabia and successfully completed the pouring of the first batch of C40 concrete. Since July this year, the project construction team, in accordance with assessment standards, has been strictly controlling the site conditions, equipment performance, material quality and team qualification, among others. Under effective communication and high-standard execution capacity, the project has successfully passed the verification of the mixing plant and the testing laboratory by the owner and the certification unit. With the joint efforts of the project team, the mixing plant has successfully obtained the certification of 2 production lines and 6 tankers and independently produced C40 main structure concrete, marking that the concrete supply of the project is no longer subject to the constraints of the local commercial mixing plant.
At the same time, the main structure construction of the service corridor of the project was officially started.
The project is about to enter its construction peak. The project leader Zou Jingdong said: "As a firm practitioner of the One Belt, One Road initiative, we will follow the concept of cooperation of joint construction and sharing, and organically integrate 'Made in China' with 'Saudi Development Standards' to help diversify the development of the Saudi economy. We will make every effort to inherit the friendship of China-Arab Millennium Silk Road and create a new era of China-Arab community of destiny."
