The roundtable on "Empowering High-quality Development and Urban Modernization with Digital Economy" was held on Nov. 15th in Dubai. Nearly 100 Chinese and Arab guests gathered together for in-depth exchanges and discussions around the development and cooperation of the digital economy.
Hu Wenrong, Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said in his speech that Shanghai and Dubai have been sister cities for 24 years, which not only witnessed the vigorous development of the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership, but also made positive contributions to deepening and consolidating the practical cooperation between the two countries. It is expected that the two sides will have in-depth pragmatic strategic cooperation, achieve mutual benefit and win-win results on the new track of digital economy, and achieve new, greater progress in promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and the UAE.
Dawoud Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said that the friendly relations between Dubai and Shanghai have continued to flourish and cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. He expressed his expectation for the two sides to achieve greater advancement in the digital economy and other fields, and jointly build a better future.
Ou Boqian, Consul general of China in Dubai, said that there is great potential for China-UAE cooperation in the development of digital economy. Shanghai and Dubai enjoy broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of software, smart grid, artificial intelligence, etc., and it is believed that this roundtable will lay a sound foundation for both sides to explore cooperation and pursue common development in the field of digital economy. The Chinese Consulate General in Dubai will continue to serve as a bridge to facilitate the achievement of high-quality and modern development of both countries.
